Kemang Palang Pintu Festival will Be Held This Weekend

The Kemang 12th Palang Pintu Festival is shceduled to be held in order to welcome the city's 490th anniversary, which falls on June 22, 2017. The event is held starting from Saturday (5/6) until Sunday (5/7). 

Central Jakarta Administration is supporting the event

South Tourism and Culture Sub-dept. Head, Nursyam said, the festival will display various Betawi cultures. They are dance, culinary, lenong (folk play) and palang pintu (a door-bolting tradition).

"Central Jakarta Administration is supporting the event. We plan to send abnon, Betawi dance and Betawi art," he expressed, Wednesday (5/3).

According to him, the event initiated by Betawian people in Kemang and its surrounding areas is very good. Besides preserving culture, it also aims to strengthen the people economy.

"Aside that it is also to strengthen silaturahmi (togetherness) among Betawian art actors and to welcome the city anniversary," he closed.
